I've also learned that "antic...Yep, Bill. I've also learned that "anticipation of crazy car acts" will go a long way in keeping us cyclists alive. I had a very close call on the Sky Loop when a repair truck attempted to back out of a driveway. It's amazing how loud you can yell in those moments.<br /><br />And yes, I always try to say something when coming up on walkers and other cyclists on the bike trails. I've been startled many times by "silent riders" coming up behind me. I also make sure I ride as far right and in a straight line. One thing I hadn't thought about on the trails. I came up on a rider and announced "on your left". There was some riders ahead of us in the other lane coming at us but some distance ahead. I eased by the rider fairly close to not venture into the oncoming lane. Well, this guy took exception to me passing so close. Although no long time riding veteran, riding in big group rides has conditioned me to riders passing right next to me.
